Marathon Golfers

FB-Tourn-095-content-2.jpgThere is NO ENTRY FEE to play in a golf marathon, but as a player commits to doing the marathon, he/she is given a Players pledge book to keep with them.  They are coached and encouraged to seek 20 people to support them at $100 each on behalf of the organization holding the marathon event.

36 players is the maximum number allowed for this event to be successful as the course gets booked for the day and the players have it all to themselves! This becomes a wonderful way to raise serious cash for organizations looking to maximize their mission efforts in the community. With only 25 players at $2000 support per player it becomes a $50,000 event. Each player is allowed to have as many Pledge Partners as they’d like as well which you can read more about by clicking here.

Organizations have raised anywhere from $20,000 to over $100,000 using this fun and unique format. Players are rewarded with top level prizes, food and contests throughout the day. One recent golf marathon brought in $40,000 in gifts and business support. Prizes range from gift certificates, TV’s, Wii consoles and games, tickets to PGA tour events and even special packages at golf resorts like The Doral and Innisbrook.

Players collect pledges up to the day of the event (and some even are taking calls on the course!) and then turn in the pledge books and we do the rest. Players are encouraged along the way by the leadership team with fundraising tips, templates to use for fundraising letters and emails along with great incentive prizes.

The organization collecting the pledges then has the wonderful opportunity of following up with all these new donors with a letter, email or personal visit thanking them for their support and cultivating a new friendship for their organization.
